Release
v3.6.0
parallaxDiscovery now shares one vantage point with the build — the parallax fixes — plus shell-aware --maven-args and the first run-scoped performance caches: several fewer SBOM builds per run, identical output.
Highlights
- 01
Discovery sees what the build sees
Without configured registries, version discovery ran the versions-maven-plugin outside the run's --maven-args, offering phantom candidates and missing real ones. It now shares the exact Maven environment of every trial and qualification in the run.
- 02
No more silent parent drops
A <parent> versioned by a property the POM does not define is resolved through the parent chain where possible, and otherwise skipped with a logged reason naming the parent and the property.
- 03
Faster runs, same answers
Dependency discovery is memoized by POM content hash and the version provider is built once per run, so registry and plugin caches span every pass. Errors and empty graphs are never cached, and byte-identical content resolves once for the whole run.
Full notes
Changed
- Run-scoped discovery and version-provider caches (epic #8, items 1-2); several fewer full SBOM builds per run with identical output.
Fixed
- Maven-fallback version discovery threads --maven-args onto every plugin invocation (#6).
- Parent-anchor identification warns instead of silently dropping an unresolvable version property (#4).
- Quoted --maven-args survive intact via shell-aware splitting; malformed quoting is refused at the CLI boundary; subsystem-owned Maven options win via last-wins ordering (#7).
